Your car may just be sat there for months on end but it is always advised to get it spic and span before you drop it off at Storacar.
It really does help to stop any bugs or bad stuff getting in to the paintwork.
Pump up your tyres
Inflate your tires to the maximum PSI rating to the tires from developing flat spots. Don't worry about removing modern radial tires.
You can leave the car in neutral with the parking brake disengaged or, if you have an automatic car, you can leave it in park.
Invest in a good car cover
Now we know your car won't complain about the cold however you may grumble if any dust or debris gets on to your vehicle. We recommend a car cover. For more advice why not read our guide on how to choose a car cover
General Car Maintenance
Here is a little checklist of the things you should also do to ensure your car stays in tip top shape over lockdown and when you car is in storage.
Fill up with fuel to limit condensation and help prevent rusting.
Check your oil as older oil can cause damage to the engine if it is left for quite a while.
It's a monthly checkup of your car to keep it in roadworthy condition whilst your vehicle is in long term storage.
Every 30 days we will check the tyres and general condition of the vehicle, run the engine to keep up the working temperature, plus complete a battery check and charge to keep your battery at full capacity.
